These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases made through the Gaza Company online store at https://gaza.is. Gaza Company is operated by Gaza Company ehf., a private limited company registered in Iceland.

By purchasing products from Gaza Company, customers agree to these Terms and Conditions, subject to their statutory consumer rights.
2. About Gaza Company
Gaza Company is an Iceland-based social enterprise specialising in handmade embroidery and textile accessories inspired by Palestinian embroidery traditions and contemporary design.
Our products include embroidered bookmarks, pouches, clutches, and other handmade accessories.
The company aims to create income-generating opportunities for skilled craftswomen, including Palestinian women and women of immigrant backgrounds.
Gaza Company operates as a commercial business with a social purpose. Purchases made through the website are payments for products, not charitable donations.
3. Purpose of Sales and Use of Revenue
Revenue from product sales is used to finance Gaza Company’s production, development, and business operations. This includes payments to craftswomen and suppliers, materials, product development, packaging, transportation, website maintenance, marketing, and other operational expenses.
Some production work may be carried out outside Iceland. In such cases, part of the company’s revenue may be transferred abroad to pay craftswomen or suppliers for their work and services.
Gaza Company does not guarantee that a fixed percentage of each purchase will be transferred to a particular person or beneficiary.
4. Products
Gaza Company offers ready-made and custom-made handmade products. Product descriptions provide information about design, materials, dimensions, prices, and available variations.
Due to the handmade nature of the products, minor variations in embroidery, stitching, and colours may occur. These variations do not affect customers’ legal rights if a product is defective or materially different from its description.
5. Prices and VAT
All product prices are displayed in Icelandic krónur (ISK), unless otherwise stated.
Gaza Company is not currently registered for Icelandic VAT and does not charge Icelandic VAT while lawfully outside the VAT registration requirement. Product prices and applicable delivery charges are displayed before order confirmation.
The company may change product prices without affecting orders already accepted.
6. Orders and Payments
Customers can place orders through https://gaza.is. Before completing a purchase, customers can review their products, quantities, delivery information, and total price.
Available payment methods are displayed during checkout. Payments are processed through payment service providers integrated with the website. Customers receive an order confirmation by email.
If a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, Gaza Company will contact the customer to arrange a suitable alternative or refund.
7. Preparation and Production Times
Ready-made products are normally prepared for dispatch within 3–7 calendar days after payment confirmation.
Custom-made products normally require 6–8 weeks for production before dispatch.
These periods refer to preparation or production and do not include shipping time. If an order is expected to be significantly delayed, Gaza Company will inform the customer and explain the available options in accordance with consumer law.
8. Shipping and Delivery
Gaza Company currently offers delivery within Iceland only. International shipping is not yet available.
Available delivery methods, delivery providers, charges, and estimated delivery times will be presented during checkout or otherwise confirmed before the customer completes the purchase.
Shipping charges depend on the selected delivery method and destination. Gaza Company is responsible for meeting its delivery obligations under applicable Icelandic consumer law.

9. Right of Withdrawal and Returns
Consumers purchasing standard products online generally have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 calendar days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason.
Customers wishing to withdraw must notify Gaza Company at gaza.iceland@gmail.com before the withdrawal period expires. Products must be returned without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the customer communicates the decision to withdraw.
Customers may examine the product as reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning. They may be responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary for this purpose.
For eligible withdrawals, the customer bears the direct cost of return shipping, provided this has been disclosed as required by law.
The statutory right of withdrawal may not apply to products made according to a customer’s individual specifications or clearly personalised for that customer. This exception does not automatically apply to all handmade products. Customers retain statutory rights relating to defective or incorrectly supplied products.
10. Refunds
Refunds for valid withdrawals will be processed in accordance with Icelandic consumer legislation. Where required by law, refunds include the original standard delivery charge.
Refunds will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the customer’s withdrawal notice. Where products must be returned, Gaza Company may withhold reimbursement until the goods are received or evidence of their return is provided, whichever occurs first.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
11. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Products
If a customer receives a damaged, defective, or incorrect product, they should contact Gaza Company at gaza.iceland@gmail.com. Customers are encouraged to provide the order number, a description of the issue, and photographs where useful.
Gaza Company will assess the complaint and provide the appropriate remedy under Icelandic consumer purchase legislation. Remedies may include repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund, depending on the circumstances. These rights are independent of the 14-day withdrawal period.
12. Order Cancellation
Customers wishing to cancel an order should contact Gaza Company as soon as possible. Cancellation requests will be handled according to applicable consumer law.
For personalised products, the production stage and legally applicable conditions may affect cancellation rights. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory statutory consumer rights.
13. Privacy and Personal Data
Gaza Company processes personal information required to manage purchases, payments, deliveries, customer service, and legal obligations.
The company processes personal information in accordance with Icelandic Act No. 90/2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

14. Intellectual Property
Original Gaza Company designs, product photographs, patterns, and website materials are protected by applicable intellectual property legislation. Customers may not reproduce protected original designs or content for commercial purposes without permission.
Traditional Palestinian embroidery motifs are not claimed as the exclusive property of Gaza Company merely because they appear in its products.

Gaza Company aims to resolve customer complaints fairly and within a reasonable period. Customers may also contact relevant consumer protection authorities or dispute resolution bodies where applicable.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Icelandic law, including applicable provisions of Act No. 16/2016 on Consumer Contracts, Act No. 48/2003 on Consumer Purchases, Act No. 30/2002 on Electronic Commerce and Other Electronic Services, and Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data.
Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
17. Changes to Terms
Gaza Company may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in its business operations, legal obligations, or delivery arrangements. Updated terms will be published on https://gaza.is with a revised date.
Changes will not retrospectively alter the terms applicable to previously accepted orders, except where required by law or agreed with the customer.
18. Withdrawal Request
Customers may request a withdrawal from an eligible online purchase. A clear statement sent by email is also sufficient.
